How do I get started?
O.K... when I first heard about Chickens.. I thought they were just virtual pets. now I hear people can make money from selling the eggs? What all does one need to  get started? and how does it all work?

Lowering the cost of anything will do nothing but lessen the value of chickens. The cheaper it is to keep them, the more chickens and eggs there will be, which will result in more of both in an already saturated market.
